3MBS is a not-for-profit community broadcaster and does not depend on government funding for its operations. Revenue is generated through subscription, on-air promotions & sales, private giving and corporate partnership.
Almost 200 dedicated volunteers along with 13 full and part-time staff, deliver fine music to over 189,000 listeners (cumulative) a week, 24 hours a day, from our state-of-the-art premises at the Abbotsford Convent.
Are you interested in becoming one of 3MBS’s invaluable volunteers?
Please read the Conditions of Volunteering at 3MBS
These outline what we expect from our volunteers and what our volunteers can expect from us – please take the time to read it.
You can also download, complete and return a Volunteer Application Form.
Once you have completed the volunteer application form and returned it to us, it will be assessed and, should there be any suitable volunteer opportunities, an appointment made for a short interview. If you are interested in volunteering in the on-air side of things, you will also be required to do a short music quiz and an audition recording. A script for the audition recording will be provided to you in advance of your appointment and a recording made at 3MBS studios. Your application and audition tape will be considered by the training committee for all on-air positions.
As you can imagine, competition for volunteer positions at 3MBS is strong. 3MBS strives to be the premier supporter and broadcaster of classical music experiences in Victoria. Consequently we aim to recruit the volunteers who can help us achieve this goal. 3MBS reserves the right not to accept applicants.
3MBS takes all applications on their merits and wishes each candidate the best of luck. If you have any question regarding volunteering, please contact Damian O’Keefe on 9416 1035, or email subs@3mbs.org.au
