3MBS-FM is proud to announce the arrival of a new series entitled Recitals on Demand.

Recitals on Demand enables you to experience exclusive radio recitals from Australia’s leading musicians captured live in our Marigold Southey performance studio.

However, unlike traditional live-to-air recitals, you get to enjoy Recitals on Demand via the Internet, when and where you want.

New recitals will be regularly posted which highlight the array of musical talent in Melbourne. This exciting intitiative is proudly supported by The Trust Company, and we are most grateful for their assistance with this new venture.

Bridges Collective

This ensemble represents a new wave in modern collaborative musical work. They are best thought of as a musical collective whose mission is to foster cross-cultural exchange between Australia and countries in the Asia-Pacific. In this recital the Ensemble presents a movement from Julian Yu's Mozartiana.

Hetty Kate

Hetty Kate is a jazz vocalist with a distinctive voice, pure tone and an interest in straight-ahead jazz and vintage music. This mini-series of 3 recitals presents Hetty and her trio covering works by Arlen. Strayhorn and Petkere.

Josephine Vains

In this solo recital, Josephine and her 1850 Thomas Kennedy cello treat us to J.S. Bach's Suite for Solo Violoncello No. 3 in C major - Allemande.

Latitude 37

Energised by a successful season in New Zealand, Julia Fredersdorff, Laura Vaughan and Donald Nicolson bring their historically-informed renderings of the baroque repertoire to 3MBS. In this recital we hear Balletto Quarto and Corrinte Quarta by 17th-century Italian composer Maurizio Cazzati.

Sunwrae Ensemble

This recent recording features the Sunwrae Ensemble, with a composition entitled Autumn Never Fall by composer and performer Rae Howell.

Firebird Trio

Three of Australia's most respected performers unite as Firebird Trio, an exciting addition to Australia's burgeoning chamber music scene. Their performances reflect the energy, colour and splendour of the Firebird, taking their name from the Ballet Suite by Igor Stravinsky.
