Composer Award - Previous Winners

The 2005 3MBS FM National Composer Award and 6th Classically Melbourne Concert.

At the 2005 concert we heard the winning composition from Andrian Pertout - 'Aristotle's Rhetoric, Suite for Orchestra' - as well as Prokofiev's 'Peter and the Wolf' and music by Bartok, Koppel and Brahms performed by Orchestra Victoria under the baton of internationally renowned conductor Johannes Fritzsch.

The 2004 3MBS FM National Composer Award and 5th Classically Melbourne Concert.

At the 2004 concert Orchestra Victoria, conducted by Simone Young, performed music from the hugely popular Harry Potter movies, Strauss's Four Last Songs sung by Miriam Gordon-Stewart, Wagner's Prelude from Tristan and Isolde and the winning entry in the 2004 3MBS FM National Composer Award. This year's winner was Perth composer James Ledger who submitted the bewitching 'Habits of Creatures'.
