What's happening at the Abbotsford Convent?
The new home of 3MBS Classically Melbourne and the whole of the Abbotsford Convent was saved from becoming a residential development by the Abbotsford Convent Coalition, a community group that campaigned for seven years to secure it for an arts, educational and cultural precinct. The Coalition was supported by philanthropists, business and government.
In April 2004 the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF), a not-for-profit-company established to realise the community’ vision to create an arts, cultural and educational precinct that will be of lasting benefit to all Victorians.
Now the Abbotsford Convent Community is a thriving vibrant community, and each week on 3MBS the CEO of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation, Maggie Maguire will share a new and exciting element of the multitude of happenings in this beautiful part of Melbourne. Produced by Ming-Hsi Hsieh.
