Tristan Lee is a Melbourne-born concert pianist, pedagogue and academic whose performances, recordings and lectures have received critical acclaim throughout Australia and abroad. He has played in major venues in Australia, France, Italy, Lithuania and China, including regular recitals at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Perth Concert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Academy of Music, and St Martin in the Fields in London, Shanghai and Chongqing Grand Theatre, Guangzhou Opera House, amongst many others.
As a soloist, Tristan has performed with orchestras in Australia and the UK. A keen interpreter of the music of the present day, he regularly performs contemporary piano music and has given numerous world premieres of works by Australian and British composers.
Tristan’s mentors have included François-Frédéric Guy and Leslie Howard. He is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester (MMus) and the University of Melbourne (PhD) where he currently teaches piano.
