Beginning with the radiant medieval chant of Hildegard von Bingen, the program journeys through the expressive worlds of Schütz, Brahms, and Rheinberger before arriving at the shimmering contemporary harmonies of Eric Whitacre and Jonathan Dove.
The concert culminates in Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, one of the great modern choral masterworks, music of extraordinary warmth and beauty.
