The Heidelberg Wind Ensemble unites exciting programming with the unique sound of the Wind Band, which you can experience in the sonorous setting of the Robin Boyd and Frederick Romberg-designed church, St. George Peace Memorial Church, Warncliffe Road, East Ivanhoe.
Conducted by Stephen Carpenter, Concert Three features a program including Jacob’s Comedy Overture: The Barber of Seville Goes to the Devil, Collins’s Kosciuszko, and Hallman’s Concerto for Trombone and Band and Sarcich’s Sonata-Concerto for Trombone and Wind Band, both receiving their World Premières, with trombone soloist Ming Yeung Li. The program also includes the world premiere of Butterworth’s A Shropshire Lad, arranged by Chal Ragsdale, R.W. Smith’s The Odyssey, De Meij’s Hobbits Dance and Hymn, Elgar's The Crown of India, and Keeffe’s Train Sets, also receiving itsworld premiere.
