Dene Olding in conversation with Sarah Barzel
Dene Olding is recognised as one of Australia’s most outstanding violinists and has performed as leader and soloist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australia Ensemble and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, amongst many ensembles. He's premiered a number of works including those written for him by Ross Edwards and Richard Mills and his recordings include Ross Edwards' Maninyas which won the 1994 ARIA Award for Best Classical Recording.
Dene is currently first violinist for the Goldner String Quartet. Formed in 1995, the Goldner is unique in the history of string quartets in Australia, having maintained the same four members throughout its existence. It has widespread recognition as Australia’s pre-eminent string quartet, and an ensemble of international significance. This year is significant as it will mark the 30th and final concert series of the Goldner String Quartet.
