International Women's Day

This will be the fourth year of International Women's Day celebrations at 3MBS. This year, our wonderful presenters have programmed over 100 women composers during the first week of March (1-8 March 2025) and over 200 works.

There is also a wider variety of female composers this year, which reflects the increase of music by women composers acquired by 3MBS over recent years.

Highlights include:
— 4pm Sunday 2 March—Reflections with Genevieve Lacey (listen back to the program here) 
— All seven extant symphonies by German composer, Emilie Mayer broadcast during Sunday Afternoon, Concert Hall and Saturday Afternoon Concert from 2–8 March
— Friday Night Serenade: Women Who Composed Who Were Told They Couldn’t
— Eliza Shephard's March of the Women live-to-air performance featuring Ensemble CANE during Melbourne in Concert
