In late 2019 Doug Beecroft visited music critic and writer Diana McVeagh at her home outside of London. It was a privilege to record a Reflections with this renowned music scholar who had a career spanning more than 60 years, with close experience to many of the great musicians of the 20th Century.
Sadly, Diana died in July this year aged 98, and 3MBS is repeating her Reflections as a tribute. Diana studied piano at the Royal College of Music, was a critic for The Times and is internationally renowned for her serious music scholarship, especially in regard to her books on Sir Edward Elgar and Gerald Finzi.
