Edward Dusinberre in conversation with Ted Davies

British/American violinist Edward Dusinberre has been the distinguished first violinist of the renowned Takács Quartet for over 30 years. He regularly performs as a recitalist and concerto soloist and joins his colleagues as Artists in Residence at the University of Colorado in Boulder, USA. He also writes about classical music in his award-winning book, Beethoven for a Later Age: The Journey of a String Quartet.

Formed in 1975 by four students of the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Takács Quartet (including founding cellist András Fejér) is celebrating its 50th anniversary and last month performed at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of their Australian tour for Musica Viva Australia.

When the Takács Quartet performed in Melbourne in 2017, Ted Davis talked with Edward Dusinberre about his career and the magical world of chamber music.
