Graham Abbott in conversation with Loretto Perkins
Graham Abbott is one of Australia's great music educators. To many, he's best known for his wonderful ABC series, Keys to Music, which he presented for over 14 years. In 1985, he was awarded the ABC Willem van Otterloo Conducting Scholarship and studied with Myer Fredman. Since then, he's conducted major choirs and orchestras in Australia and overseas and specialises in the performance of works by Handel.
In 2007, Graham was awarded the Sir Bernard Heinze Memorial Award by the University of Melbourne in recognition of his services to Australian music as both conductor and music educator. Earlier this year, he retired from conducting but continues to maintain a very busy musical life as speaker, teacher and coach, and tour leader.
