Iain Grandage AM in conversation with Ted Davies

Newly appointed Director of Programming at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Iain Grandage AM, brings a remarkable track record of artistic excellence, excitement and innovation to his new role.  

Iain has recently concluded a five-year period as Artistic Director of the Perth Festival.  He's also been Artistic Director of the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, curated the fine music program for the Adelaide Festival (Chamber Landscapes), and was Composer in Residence with the WA Symphony Orchestra.  He has won numerous awards including the prestigious Sidney Myer Performing Arts Award, was West Australian of the Year for Arts & Culture in 2023, and in June this year, was honoured with a Member of the Order of Australia award. 

Iain's compositions have experienced great success and he's won Helpmann Awards for his compositions for theatre, opera and for music direction.   

Composer, performer, conductor, festival director, musical curator, and cross-cultural collaborator, Iain is a true visionary.
