Michael Leighton-Jones in Conversation with Ted Davies

Michael is a musician of many facets.  He was born into a musical New Zealand family and his mother was a professional singer.  He studied French, music and theology in NZ, Australia and the UK, during which time he was always singing!  

He's sung with the Choirs of King’s College, Cambridge and Westminster Abbey and was a member of London-based vocal ensemble The Scholars for 10 years. He's taught at the University of Queensland and formed the Brisbane-based a cappella vocal sextet Jones & Co.  For 17 years, he was Director of Music of the Choir of Trinity College in Melbourne and has also written many works and arrangements for choir and smaller vocal groups.  

Michael currently undertakes a busy freelance career as an adjudicator, arranger, composer, conductor, singer and teacher.  In 2024, he joined 3MBS where he's a regular presenter, interviewer and programmer.
