Marcus Ho
Marcus is a Melbourne-based saxophonist active in performing both locally and internationally.
A member of the Ocean Saxophone Quartet, and a founding member of the Metro Saxophone Quartet, Marcus is enthusiastic about exploring the instrument's ability to fit in a wide range of settings, from piano trios to large symphonic ensembles. He is equally passionate about the saxophone's ability to express a vast array of characters, and taking advantage of its flexibility as a solo instrument.
As a former student of Gerard McChrystal during his time in the UK, Marcus was exposed to both the neo-classical and contemporary sides of the saxophone's repertoire. This culminated in his concerto performance of Dave Heath's "The Celtic" with orchestra at the age of 18.
Marcus is currently studying saxophone at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under Joseph Lallo and Yo-Yo Su.
Marcus will perform:
- Decruck: Sonata, mvts. 1-2
- Philippe Geiss - Xiwind
With associate artist Aisha Bowker
