The Kawai Live Series presented by Kawai Pianos Australia continues on 3MBS—showcasing an exciting new lineup of pianists during Music for Keyboard with Mark Kerr.
Join us for a live-to-air performance by Elyane Laussade, performing a program that moves from Mozart’s variations and Chaminade’s Romanticism to waltzes and nocturnes by Chopin, ending with the virtuosity of Franz Liszt and an arrangement of Gershwin’s Summertime.
Listen to the live broadcast or watch the live video stream.
A graduate of the Juilliard School in New York City, pianist Elyane Laussade has delighted audiences on five continents with her imaginative and highly individual playing. The New York Times described her as “a pianist with a powerful, polished technique and many an original interpretive notion … with an impeccable sense of style and dazzling power.”
Originally from the USA, Elyane has established herself as one of Australia’s finest performers. She has appeared on numerous occasions with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and has been featured by ABC Classic and 3MBS in studio recordings and live broadcasts.
As a soloist, Elyane has performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Japan, South Africa, the USA, Taiwan and Europe.
As a recording artist, she has released the solo CD Just for You, These Little Things with Sydney-based violinist Jemima Littlemore, and Humanation with Melbourne cellist Luke Severn.
One of Elyane’s major artistic endeavours was the Mozart Project, through which she performed all 27 Mozart piano concertos with orchestras around Australia. Alongside her solo career, she also maintains a rich involvement in chamber music.
Her passion for creating intimate musical experiences inspired her to establish a special recital series at the Laussade Studio in Melbourne, where she performs both as a soloist and in collaboration with Australian and international musicians.
