Anne-Louise Sarks in conversation with Ted Davies

Accomplished international theatre director, writer and actor, Anne-Louise Sarks is CEO and Artistic Director of the Melbourne Theatre Company.  A graduate of the VCA, she has also directed notable productions for the Malthouse Theatre and Belvoir, Bell Shakespeare, and The Hayloft Project in Australia.  She has directed for numerous companies overseas, including at the Lyric Hammersmith, Barbican, and Theater Basel Awards include accolades for her Medea production (co-written with Kate Mulvaney) - Sydney Theatre Awards including Best Direction, Best Mainstage Production and Best New Australian Work, an AWGIE for Best Stage Play and was nominated for four prestigious Helpmann Awards. She directed the musical My Brilliant Career for MTC which was awarded five Green Room awards in 2025.  

Anne-Louise is a passionate believer in the power of theatre for change.
