Elena Kats-Chernin AO in conversation with Ted Davies
The stellar musical career of one of Australia’s finest composers, Elena Kats-Chernin AO, started in the former Soviet Union and proceeded via Europe to Australia where she emigrated at the age of 18.
In 2025, Kats-Chernin was the most popular female composer listed in the ABC Classic 100 Countdown, with three entries: Eliza Aria at 24, Butterflying at 52 and Russian Rag at 58.
