Pam Weaver in conversation with Kiera Stephens
Many retirees enjoy a quiet and relaxing ‘third age’. Not so Pam Weaver OAM.
Pam has a long history of volunteering, including, while living in England, volunteering with Greenpeace and Friends of The Earth.
On her return to Australia, Pam saw a need to set up a new charity. She had become involved with a Regional Dog Pound, where she saw many healthy, happy dogs euthanised. So, she created the concept of a foster home model, the first in Australia. From this developed the Save-A-Dog Scheme, a charity with which she is still deeply involved.
