Douglas Weiland's piece takes its initial inspiration from the 1787 string quartet version of “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Joseph Haydn, a work composed for performance on Good Friday.

The English (Australian) composer Douglas Weiland takes the narrative further, adding Words of Christ spoken after the Resurrection.

Renowned musician, William Hennessy AM, a longtime advocate of Weiland's music through The Weiland Project, offers here the Australian premiere of this beautiful work.
