Jean Sibelius’s 157th Birthday Special (1)

In celebration of Jean Sibelius’s 157th birthday, the Olivér Quartet will perform his finest string quartet, Voces intimae, Op.56 live-to-air from 10am this Thursday 8 December during Morning Recital with John Wilkinson. The Olivér Quartet are (from left): Felix Pascoe (violin), Donica Tran (guest violin), Ariel Postmus (viola) and Oliver Russell (cello).The Quartet was formed at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in 2022, connecting four musicians from all corners of Australia. Performing chamber music is a key part of the ANAM program as it enables a strong culture of chamber music-making and skill development across the cohort . Throughout the year, the quartet has been fortunate enough to be mentored by ANAM faculty Caroline Henbest, Robin Wilson, Sophie Rowell, Howard Penny, and Timothy Young. As engaging and dynamic artists, the quartet strives to connect with their audiences through their fresh and creative performances.
